I have the privilege of being Deborah's work colleague. Early on I determined that she was indeed a formidable young woman with a real passion for her patients and her profession. After reading this amazing journey she took to get to where she is today, i am more than awed by her perseverance and tenacity in overcoming so many road-blocks in her life. Hurdles that would have derailed a lesser person. Her story is bigger than just about her journey, it addresses a larger theme. A theme as old as the tales of Homer, how and why human beings battle adversity to become true living heroes. After reading this book I now see Deborah and all others that have taken similar journeys as true heroes. Thank you for sharing this with us all Deborah, you are one amazing woman!

Why do I give this book 5 stars you ask - I personally know the woman who wrote the book, she is a walking, talking Miracle to have risen above her circumstances, mothered 4 children, literally put herself thru school - to earn, not one but two degrees and is giving back to others. I have the utmost respect for Deborah and others like her who rise above the hand they are dealt in life and trudge along. This book is a good read, at times R plus rated (which I enjoy) - and when I remind myself I personally know Deborah - it brings tears to my eyes. May God bless her and her children. Buy the book and enjoy the read.
